Dorridge
CC was founded in 1928 as
SHIRLEY CRICKET CLUB playing its first games in Tidbury Green and
Shirley Park before moving to its present
ground in
Earlswood Road Dorridge in 1952. The club was renamed DORRIDGE in 1969. We celebrated our 75th anniversary in 2004 with a fixture against an MCCC XI. On 12 Dec 2007 Dorridge merged with Hockley Heath Cricket Club. For the insomniacs: The New DCC Constitution For the 2008
season the club
will run 4 teams on Saturday, 4 on Sunday (incl a Ladies team)
and Under 9, U11, U13, U15, and U17 youth teams. The Sat 1st's and 2nd's play in THE BIRMINGHAM & DISTRICT PREMIER LEAGUE The
Saturday
3rd & 4th teams play
in the COTSWOLD HILLS LEAGUE,
using Hockley Heath CC's Grove Lane ground. Two Sunday teams play in THE WARWICKSHIRE LEAGUE, with a 3rd team playing friendlies. DCC has a thriving youth coaching system and we pride ourselves in developing many of our present First & Second team players. Many youngsters are getting games with the "old men" in the Thirds & Fourths and the Sunday 2nds. We are
grateful for the continued sponsorship of
PERTEMPS RECRUITMENT PARTNERSHIP & BURCHELL EDWARDS. Pertemps' Chairman, Tim Watts is a former DCC player. Pertemps provides funds that allows us to reduce the annual subs for our youngsters, whilst Burchell Edwards sponsor the club kit, and their MD Tim Burchell still turns his arm over. We are always
happy to welcome new members, playing or not, we have an
active Social Committee and the Bar is open every night.
Come along and enjoy Dorridge CC. Feel free to E Mail
