EMail ======================================== The Cricket Club are indebted to a number of individuals, particularly Iain Johnson and Keith Geobey, for the work undertaken this winter to replace the central heating (including the switch to LPG) and the refurbishment of the toilets & showers. 13 Feb 2010 Congratulations go to Mike & Kerri Lane on the birth of their daughter Annabel on Sat 13th February. Weighing in at a mighty 9lb 5oz. Proud Grandparents John & Margaret were moved to say " Wouldn't have made a bad barbel". Priceless. 11 Feb 2010 Well done to the Dorridge CC Indoor side on their defeat of local rivals K&D, as they finished 3rd in their group ( of 4 ) at the Edgbaston Indoor League. Losses to Olton & Walmley, saw DCC & K&D fighting for the wooden spoon ! K&D 92-5 (10 overs) lost to DCC 93-4 (8.5overs). Skipper Skull, Abs, Waq, Wingy, Carts & Hoops "stared". 8 Feb 2010 Belated CONGRATULATIONS to Dorridge CC 1st team skipper, Abdul Hafeez on his selection as one of the 5 Cricketers of the Year by The Midland Club Cricket Conference. overwhelming for
her,
but she gained much comfort
from seeing so many familiar faces.
6 Oct 2009 Mike & Pam Timmins are happy and proud to announce the birth of their first grandson. Oliver Matthew was born to Sadie (and Matt) today at 3.35am, weighing in at 6lbs 9ozs. Mike is looking to select him for the DCC 8ths in 2022 season ! Ollie 1 Ollie 2 29 Sept 2009 IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS WE LEARNT THAT NEIL CLUNE HAS DIED TODAY. Neil has been a long time member of Dorridge Cricket Club, and he and Avie have always been regular supporters of "All Things Dorridge". Neil was, for many years, the regular Second team Umpire until his retirement from that role in 2005, also officating at our Lashings Fixtures and most of the County Benefit games. He always brought a balance of fair play, common sense and humour to the games and was widely admired around the Leagues. There will be no-one at Dorridge that did not know Neil was an Arsenal supporter, but we tried not to hold that against him. The thoughts of everyone at DCC are with Avie and Joseph at this time. He will be greatly missed by his many friends. NEIL CLUNE 12 Sept 2009 The Season's Finale: The first's fail at the last fence but the second's clear their last hurdle and win promotion. CONGRATULATIONS to both Beef and Abs on excellent seasons. Unless anyone objects it will be closed down next month. 4 Sept 2009 Malcolm Ord stands down as DCC Coaching Guru after "many years". 31 Aug 2009 Two more wins, maintains the double promotion push. 29 Aug 2009 Great wins for 1sts & 2nds move them both into REAL promotion contention. 3rds perish but win for Timmo's boys see them finish 7th (lower mid-table respectability) 28 Aug 2009 Congratulations to Chris Bennett on his Prime Chartered Accountants "Player of the Month" award. 23 Aug 2009 Sun 1sts & 2nds both win, but 2nds relegated. 22 Aug 2009 Wins all round except 2nds -- winning draw. 15 Aug 2009 A valiant losing draw by 1sts, a disappointing winning draw by 2nds, a big win by 3rds and a bit of a thumping for the 4ths. The League deduct 2 points from the First Team for a third case of slow over rate. 8 Aug 2009 The sun shone again ! 1sts Winning draw, and wins for 2nds and 3rds. 4ths lose a tight one. 1 Aug 2009 Rain, all games abandoned. 31 July 2009 Tour Match Reports posted, plus team photos - more to follow. 25 July 2009 A good day for Dorridge. 1sts losing draw, but all other sides win. 19 July 2009 DCC U13's beat Desborough from Northampton by 12 runs to reach the Regional Finals. 18 July 2009 Good win for 1sts, Winning draw for 2nds, loss for 3rds, match abandoned 4ths. 11 July 2009 Rain around again, but Winning draws for 1st & 2nds, win for 3rds, loss for 4ths. 5 July 2009 DCC U13's beat Atherstone to win Warwickshire section of Spirit of Cricket Club Championship. See CRICKET / YOUTH page. 4 July 2009 With the 4ths losing, it's left to the 1sts, 2nds & 3rds to keep the flag flying ! 27 June 2009 1sts gain 105 run win, and 4ths a 16 run win, 2nds a good winning draw but 3rds lose. 25 June 2009 1st team have 1 point deducted, after being reported for the second time this season for a slow over rate. 20 June 2009 With 1sts, 2nds & 3rds all losing it's left to the 4ths to keep the flag flying with their first win of season. 13 June 2009 The sun shone ! Good wins for the 1sts and 3rds, but reversals for 2nds and 4ths. 6/7 June 2009 The proverbial Wet Weekend. 3 June 2009 Sunday 3rd XI results updated. 30 May 2009 1sts, 3rds & 4ths all lose. 2nds pick up 24 pts to remain top of the table. DCC Ladies captain, Jane James, makes debut for the 4ths. 23/25 May 2009 Good Bank Holiday week-end for DCC with 3 wins and 2 winning draws. 16 May 2009 On a rainy day only 1sts and 2nds get results - 1sts get the wrong one, 2nds a hard-worked-for winning draw & top the table. 9 May 2009 A good day for the 1sts & 2nds, a bad day for the 3rds and a horrible day for the 4ths. 2 May 2009 First round of league games see Dorridge lose 3 (although all could have been won) and draw 1. 19 April 2009 Congratulations to Steve and Jennifer on birth of son Isaac Lawrence Tabb born at 7.14 pm on Sunday 19th, 7lbs 12 ozs. Jonathan Webb
has joined Dorridge CC from Olton & West Warwicks CC. The
Bromsgrove schoolboy is a member of the Warwickshire Academy at
Edgbaston is very highly rated. The 17 year old also represented
Warwickshire 2nd XI last summer and we are looking forward to welcoming
him into the side upon his return from school cricket.

also plays minor counties cricket and is an integral part of the
Herefordshire CCC side. Richard has been a consistent
performer in the premier division for Barnt Green.

seamer
and
left-handed
batsman has
experience of
first-class
cricket
with
Derbyshire
CCC.
Ian
keeps
wicket
and
is
currently
in
the
side
at
Herefordshire
CCC.
Dorridge captain Abdul
Hafeez commented " It is
great for the club to have attracted these players. I have known
Richard for well over 10 years and he is very highly rated on the
league circuit. Kasir has been on the staff at Derbyshire CCC and this
is a testimony of his ability. Ian is a young wicket-keeper who has
performed well in league cricket over a few seasons to earn himself a
regular place in the Herefordshire side. They will bring quality and
experience to our side. I wish them all a long and successful
association with the club ".
