30 Aug 2010 1sts complete a weekend double, and 2nds (ton from Matt Bacon) have to be content with a winning draw. 28 Aug 2010 Excellent wins by 1sts & 3rds (ton from Tom Barker), 2nds draw, and FFTFF (4ths fail to fulfill fixture). 14 -21 Aug 2010 RAIN 7 Aug 2010 On a wet Saturday, the 1sts gain 12 points in an abandoned game, and the 2nds 12 in a losing draw. 3rds do not bowl a ball. 4ths lose. 4th August 2010 Cath Ward, Martin's wife, was involved in a fatal road accident today whilst taking part in a cycling time trial. The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Martin, Fiona and Louise. Cath was an inaugural member of the Dorridge Ladies Cricket Team, formed in 2006, and was an obvious choice as the first Captain. She had played at University, and although a little rusty she soon showed that the game came naturally to her. In the first full season of 2007, Cath lead the team through 9 matches winning 4. In the Twenty20 format she excelled as a batsman and as a bowler was a regular wicket taker. Her last outing in the side was in April 2009 against Warwick University. Cath was involved with the Junior Coaching at Dorridge CC and held a Level 1 Coaching Certificate. Cath's love of cycling grew to the detriment of her cricket as it was easier on the joints, but she still kept in touch and was a source of great encouragement. She will be sorely missed. CATH WARD. 31 July 2010 A very strange losing draw for 1sts, and wins for 2nds and 3rds. 4ths lose. 24 July 2010 Win and 20 points for 1sts; 2nds a winning draw, 3rds also return to winning ways, but 4ths lose a close one. 17 July 2010 1sts back to winning ways, and a nervous winning draw for 2nds. 3rds & 4ths lose. 10 July 2010 4ths manage a rare win, but other sides still have 'orrible taste in mouths ! 3 Jul 2010 What a season, each Sat side tastes defeat ! And it tastes bad ! 30 Jun 2010 T20 side lose to Berkswell in League competition. 26 Jun 2010 Firsts start to motor, everyone else has hand brake on ! 20 Jun 2010 DCC T20 side fail to get past Walmley in their early morning encounter. Oh dear, Oh dear, Oh dear ! What is happening to Club Cricket when a fielder's word is not considered enough to confirm that a catch is "good" ! 19 Jun 2010 Dorridge definitely moving forward. Firsts good winning draw, Seconds and Thirds convincing wins, but a lose for Fourths. 16 Jun 2010 Dorridge beat Studley by 15 runs in 2nd round of League Twenty20. 12 Jun 2010 Points haul increased but still in reverse as both 1sts & 2nds lose. 3rds continue their good run with another win, and 4ths come second again, 5 Jun 2010 Our 2 Bham League sides amass 2 points between them as we slip into reverse gear ! Third's hammer a poor Claverdon side, whilst the Fourth's make a valiant effort to overcome 245. 2 Jun 2010 Dorridge beat Stratford-upon-Avon by 56 runs in Birmingham League Twenty20 knockout. 1 Jun 2010 Belated CONGRATULATIONS to Abdul & Adella. Proud parents of Baby Girl born on 16 May 2010 - 8lb 15oz. 31 May 2010 Up into Second gear. Wins by both Birmingham League sides, albeit 1sts by 1 wkt in a nail-biting last wkt stand of 12. 29 May 2010 The Dorridge Machine still chugging along in First gear. 1sts are thumped, 2nds get a winning draw, 3rds rained off, BUT 4ths get their first real win of season. 22 May 2010 Dorridge just cannot get started this season; 3 losses and a win [2nds, who are now 3rd in table & Sam "Beef" Smith smacks a little matter of 115*] To rub salt in, 1sts receive 1st warning for slow over rate last week. 16 May 2010 Dorridge lost to Kibworth by 97 runs in ECB National Knockout. 15 May 2010 On a sunny day, good winning draws for 1sts & 2nds, 3rds and 4ths lose. Tons for Dave Ball (1sts) and Don Baker (4ths). 14 May 2010 Dorridge beat Studley by 15 runs in preliminary round of Cockspur Twenty20. 8 May 2010 Rain -- but 3rd's win at Cookhill, and 4th's achieve a walkover ! 1 May 2010 Poor start to the new season. 2nds claim a winning draw, all other sides lose. 25 April 2010 Congratulations to Jimmy Ayliffe on completing London Marathon in 4 Hours 6 mins. You can still donate -- see above. 24 April 2010 Dorridge lose to Shrewsbury by 10 runs in 2nd round of Graham Williamson Trophy. 17 April 2010 Dorridge off to a winning start in 2010, with a 7 wkt win over Bridgnorth in Graham Williamson Trophy game. 11 April 2009 Warwickshire's KEITH BARKER is allocated to Dorridge CC for the 2010 season. We all wish Keith lots of Runs, Wickets and Games ! 5 Mar 2010 Abs presented with MCCC Cricketer of the Year award -- see Photo Gallery. 13 Feb 2010 Congratulations go to Mike & Kerri Lane on the birth of their daughter Annabel on Sat 13th February. Weighing in at a mighty 9lb 5oz. Proud Grandparents John & Margaret were moved to say " Wouldn't have made a bad barbel". Priceless. 11 Feb 2010 Well done to the Dorridge CC Indoor side on their defeat of local rivals K&D, as they finished 3rd in their group ( of 4 ) at the Edgbaston Indoor League. Losses to Olton & Walmley, saw DCC & K&D fighting for the wooden spoon ! K&D 92-5 (10 overs) lost to DCC 93-4 (8.5overs). Skipper Skull, Abs, Waq, Wingy, Carts & Hoops "stared". 8 Feb 2010 Belated CONGRATULATIONS to Dorridge CC 1st team skipper, Abdul Hafeez on his selection as one of the 5 Cricketers of the Year by The Midland Club Cricket Conference. MCCC Dinner March 5th at The Tally Ho, Edgbaston. 20 Jan 2010 Pete Ludlow picks up the £150 first prize in the December 150 draw. 1 Jan 2010 Congratulations to Rich & Liz Langton on the birth of their son, Fred, today at 2pm, weighing in at 7lb 8ozs. Mum & Junior doing well and Rich reports he managed to remain standing throughout ! |
