22 Jan 2003 Birmingham League Clubs Vote
for Change.
At the A.G.M., held at Edgbaston on 22nd January, clubs voted in favour of a re-structure of the league’s four divisions. From the start of 2004 season, the league will have a second and third division, instead of two regionalised second divisions. All 48 clubs voted on the motion and the decision to change (carried by 37 votes to 11) will see an end to the uncertainty that surrounds the number of clubs relegated from Division Two (East) and Division Two (West) at the end of each season. At the end of 2004 season, and in subsequent years, four clubs will be relegated from Division Three, to be replaced by the Champions of each of the four Feeder Leagues – Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. In all the other divisions, two clubs will be relegated and two will be promoted from Divisions Three, Two and One. The composition of Divisions Two and Three, in 2004, will be decided at a meeting of the cricket sub-committee of the league on Monday 3rd February. 20 Jan 2003 Good news that Abdul has agreed a 2 year contract with the club.
