Report from Coleshill Herald:
" Coleshill Town Council has been asked to sell the town's historic cricket pitch to developers who want to build a supermarket.

At a meeting this week councillors were due to discuss a letter from surveyors acting for developers who want to purchase part of the Memorial Park for 'retail development purposes', believed to be a supermarket.

The piece of land they are interested in is the area where Coleshill Cricket Club play. Coleshill celebrated its 150th anniversary last year, has been playing at the Memorial Park for 109 years "
