I am really looking forward to this exciting new challenge. Waqar has done an excellent job in the past two seasons and I will look to build on the excellent platform he has built at the club. On behalf of everyone I would like to say a big thank you and hope that his current work related uncertainties, that have made a third term in office impossible, are soon resolved".

15 July 2006
Excellent day for Waqar's men as they beat Attock and climb to 4th in League. Another Baller ton (obviously benefited from tour)
Wrighty's boys beat the previously undefeated Cookhill but remain mid table. Bizarrely Cookhill regain top spot as Blockley also lost their unbeaten record !
Pete's lads hang on for losing draw, but worringly are into bottom two.

10-13 July 2006

Another highly enjoyable tour is completed, not without a "wobble" or two. The side posted good first-knock totals only to see Chipping Sodbury, Corsham & Marshfield pass them. We managed a win on last day at Cirencester. Reports will appear on TOUR section of CRICKET page, and photos in the Gallery.

9 July 2006

22 June 2006

On Friday 9 June, the Pertemps VI, captained by Pertemps trainer and Barnt Green CC captain, Simon Froggatt, retained the Warwickshire beneficiary 6-a-side trophy at the John Paul Getty ground at Wormsley, Buckinghamshire. This year, the event was in support of Warwickshire beneficiary and "Ashes Hero" Ashley Giles,  and was the third successive victory for the Pertemps VI in this competition.
Simon's team was made up of Mike Powell (Warwickshire CCC), Adam Smith and Gary Cowley (Barnt Green CC), and Dorridge's Andy Wing and Dave Ball. As in previous years the team was managed and motivated (threatened ?) by Pertemps consultant accountant and Dorridge CC President Martin "Max" Ward, with Ventures MD Jon Smith in close attendance as chief supporter and drinks manager.
The team played two round robin matches, a semi final and a final, being unbeaten on the day. Photos in Gallery 2006.

18 June 2006

17 June 2006
Waqar's optimism well-founded with excellent day for 1sts and 2nds & tons for Dave Ball & Andy Thornley (again). 3rds lose, but unearth an old friend !

14 June 2006
Website spokesman - Timmy Wimmo - asked Sat. Skipper Waqar Mohamed for his thoughts after Saturdays game.

Since the rain intervened for three weeks, we've struggled a little bit to find our form after a really positive start. We were undone by a good spell of bowling on Saturday by James Brinkley, and, despite the best efforts of Abs and the middle order, we weren't able to post a competitive score on a good wicket.
As expected, it's a volatile league table in this Division, where virtually everyone has won and lost a game - and most have only played four/five games so far.
I know the guys will continue to work hard, and feel sure that we can bounce back very soon.”

11 June 2006
Sunday firsts win again, after amassing 332-5, good knocks from Jamiel, Seal, Mohamed & Ball.

10 June 2006

2nd's & 3rd's have excellent wins, but 1st's lose to drop into bottom 3.
Highlight of day Andy Thornley's unbeaten 150 as the 2nd's chase Wardens  276-2, winning by 7 wickets.

7 June 2006

DCC lose to Moseley in the first round of Twenty20 Challenge Cup. Dorridge 111 - 8 (Abdul 51), Moseley 112-5 off 19.2 overs.

4 June 2006

The Sunday sides show the way with 2 excellent wins. Main highlight Rich Adams (The Doc) 105. Early in season, but nice to report both sides are at the "right end" of the table !

3 June 2006

Saturday sides finally get to play cricket in the sun, but only the Seconds can hold their heads up !
Bad defeats for Waqar & Wrighty's boys;  2ndXI spin twins Pete & Tom just fail to bowl them to victory.

Sad to report the death of former Dorridge CC  player, Eric Tweddle. Eric was a stalwart of the Seconds for many years during the 70's and 80's. He was at the 75th celebrations 2 years ago.  Eric.

6 May 2006
Decidedly indifferent start to the season with only the 1sts getting a positive result - a winning draw at Attock. Abdul's ton the feature. 2nds lose by 7 wkts, the 3rds by 9 !!

5 May 2006
Anybody remember Sam Reddish ? Well he's just taken 148 runs off Worcestershire in an MCC University game for Bradford & Leeds UCCE . See scorecard.

29 April 2006
BLACK DAY FOR MIDLANDS FOOTBALL.

Better news for DCC, as 1st's make all the running v K&D only to let it slip, 2nd's & 3rd's both win friendlies.

DCC 1XI 223-9 from 45 overs (D Ball 79, J Parks 30, S Mohammed 22, W Mohamed 21)
K&D 225-8 from 44.3 overs (2 wkts apiece for Dutton, E Seal and W Mohamed)
Dorridge made a promising start with Parks (30) and Sohail (22) seeing off the K&D opening attack of Elliot Wilson and Travis Friend.
Dave Ball was the star performer from that point onwards and gave a glimpse of his potential with an excellent 79. Some good support towards the end of the 45-over innings saw us close on 223-9.
We picked up wickets regularly throughout the K&D innings (M Dutton 9-2-11-2) and were on top at 67-4 and then again at 170-8. With 55 needed off the last 7 overs, Mike Palmer and Jamie Spiers chanced their arm and managed to take the home side to victory with just three balls to spare.

K&D 2XI 191-8 (wickets shared, Pete Mc, Rob Moran, The DOC, Tabbsy & Mark Jenkins) DCC 2XI 192-2 (Benson 77 ret. The Doc 41)

DCC 3XI 130-9 (Micky Perrin 39, Wingy 25) Hockley Heath 70 all out (Gary McDonald 3for, Big Tel 3for)
