Another successful Chairman's Dinner, this year in a Marquee at the club. Dougie Brown entertained us and presented the awards. was selected for the Northern District 1st Grade team on Saturday.
Batting at No.7 he went to the crease at 30/5. His experiences with DCC
obviously served him well and he proceeded to dominate in a 6th
wicket partnership of 147. Dave was finally out for 108 in a total
of 247.
Not to be outdone old boy Rod Hokin, also now a 1st Grade
regular with Gordon CC, notched up 105no on his last visit to the
crease earlier in the month.
Both Northern District and Gordon CC are in the top
6 of the very competitive Sydney First Grade Cricket Competition.
12 Dec 2007 In a reasonably well attended EGM the members of Dorridge CC voted unanimously to accept the 2 proposals. The club has now merged with Hockley Heath Cricket Club, and we welcome all their members to Dorridge. The club's Constitution has also been amended to allow a change in Committee structure. Details of the new structure will be posted soon. 23 Nov 2007 The first Captains Report on the 2007 season has appeared. sadly passed away this morning.

2007Roger was never less than a gentleman, and his enthusiasm for cricket, and for the players involved, have been in a large way responsible for moving the League forward to the eminent position it holds today. He will be sadly missed. CONGRATULATIONS to the Organiser, Waqar Mohamed, for winning the 2007 DCC Fantasy Cricket League !!! 21 Sept 2007 DCC 3rd's collect runners up awards at Presentation evening, with Steve Hooper picking up the Div 5 Player of the Year trophy. 16 Sept 2007 The end of a, mainly, successful season with one Championship (shared), two promotions and 15 club centuries ! 16 Sept 2007 In the John Whitehouse Trophy Final Dorridge lose to Kenilworth Wardens by 5wkts, Dorridge highlight another Dave Ball ton. 15 Sept 2007 Abdul's boys clinch promotion with a 24pt win at Penn, Andy Thornley starring with a brilliant 120*. Seconds lose to Himley and will be relegated. 9 Sept 2007 In the semi-final of THE JOHN WHITEHOUSE TROPHY CUP Dorridge thrash Water Orton, to set up a final v Kenilworth Wardens. 8 Sept 2007 First's outplay Attock in top of table clash. Now need 7 pts next week for promotion. Second's losing draw with Steve Hooper's first DCC ton 101*. Congratulations to DAVE BALL who completed his 1000 runs for the season during his 92* today. 4 Sept 2007 Ladies win their final game of season to finish a creditable mid-table. 1 Sept 2007 27 Aug 2007 Bank Holiday blues as neither side wins. 25 Aug 2007 On a hot sunny day Dorridge turn on the style with wins by all 3 sides. Tons by Dave Ball, Andy Thornley & Rob Collen. 22 Aug 2007 LASHINGS game Photos now in PHOTOGALLERY. 19 Aug 2007 Rained blights the Sunday games. Although the 1st's finish as JOINT CHAMPIONS, and the 2nd's a very creditable 4th with Rob Collen certain to collect the Man of The Match seasonal award. 18 Aug 2007 The rain returns and all Sat games are abandoned. 14 Aug 2007 A few Photos of the "Phil-Cox-Stag-Do-Cricket-6-A-Side-Day" in July. First's & Third's have comprehensive wins, and a confidence boosting draw for the Second's which includes James Lankester's first ton. 6 Aug 2007 Delayed WEDDING CONGRATULATIONS to very long time DCC Bachelor Boy John Phillips, who was finally snared by the lovely Louise on 21 July 2007. 5 Aug 2007 Sunday sides both lose. See PHOTOGALLERY. 31 July 2007 Following the unprecedented interest generated since last Sundays game, Mike Timmins has announced that he has signed with MCA (Mix Clafford Associates) and will soon be embarking upon a Scorecard signing tour of the West Midlands. 29 July 2007 In a return to Cricket on a Sunday; 1st's lose first game of season, 2nd's win at Olton with another Rob Collen ton. 28 July 2007 10 wkt win by 1st's, 8 wkt win by 3rd's, but 9 wkt loss by 2nd's. 21/22 July 2007 Rain wins again. 18 July 2007 After all the rain, a brilliant day for the Lashings fixture ! LWXI 297-3 (Amla 131*, DeFreitas 50) DCC 181 (Jamiel 53) Report, Photos to follow. 14 July 2007 First's and Third's have good wins, but any win still eludes the Two's. 13 July 2007 DCC Tourists back home after 4 excellent days (not without the odd problem) with a record of Won 3 Lost 1. Photos & Report in due course ! 7 July 2007 In a rare visit from the sun, we manage a win, draw & loss. Dave Ball with 153* and 4-36 still can't swing it for the first's. 2 July 2007 Due to the consistent rainfall over the last few days, the WCCC Second XI fixture due to be played at Dorridge CC tomorrow has been cancelled. The Bears were due to play Worcestershire in their first game of the Second XI Trophy but due to a water logged pitch the game was forced to be abandoned. Second XI Coach, Keith Piper, said, “ It is disappointing but we had a look at Dorridge and it was just totally unsuitable. We were champions in this competition last year so we are raring to go, but this weather is causing so many problems at the moment.” 30 June 2007 First's lose at Attock, probably only game played within hundreds of miles ! 23 June 2007 Bad day in the DCC office ! 1st's thumped, 2nd's hang on for draw, 3rd's lose by 4 runs. 16 June 2007 Rain effects everything, 1st's draw, 2nd's don't start, but 3rd's have an excellent win. 10 June 2007 Sunday sides in domineering form in wins against Olton. 1st's chase 238 & 2nd's hit 275-3 with tons from Sibley & Collen. 9 June 2007 1sts top 300 thanks to Imi's ton, but still have to settle for draw; both 2nds & 3rds lose. 2 June 2007 1sts lose first game, 2nds pick up a few more points with another losing draw, 3rds win at Henley. 31 May 2007 MRS ELEANOR PARKS, James' Mum passed away this week at home in Prestbury. Our thoughts are with Brian and James. 29 May 2007 DORRIDGE CC FANTASY CRICKET FINAL CALL. Overall a good start to the League season. 1st's win thanks to Dave Ball's 178*; 3rd's thanks to Mark Hewson & Neil Devenport's 80 each. Unfortunately 2nd's have bad day with too many dropped catches. 4 May 2007 . . . and finally 2006 Sat 1XI averages are posted ! 1 May 2007 LASHINGS WORLD XI announce their 2007 squad. See LASHINGS GAME PAGE. 5 April 2007 Hampton & Solihull Cricket Clubs have merged. Details 31 Mar 2007 Congratulations to Micky & Elaine; Mr & Mrs Perrin; and somewhat belatedly; James & Alice: Mr & Mrs Legg. 20 Feb 2007 AGM came and went in record time. A good turn out of members heard reports from the President, who congratulated the Cricket Club on a successful financial year, and the Chairman who outlined the successes on the field. Outgoing 1st team skipper, Waqar Mohamed, reported on an excellent season by his team, sentiments echoed by John Wright & Richard Adams for the Sat 3rd's & Sun 2nd's resp. The accounts were accepted (thanks to Jakie) & John Wright updated the members re. the grant application for the second ground. First Team Skipper, Abdul Hafeez said "Imran is a quality top-order batsman who impressed by scoring a superb hundred against us in 2005 at Broadacre and has been scoring consistently well at this level.
