DORRIDGE
LADIES AT K&D KNOCK-OUT
Dorridge Ladies gained further
match experience in a six aside tournament at Knowle and Dorridge CC on Sunday
September 10.
As the only team of ladies in the tournament and pitched against some talented
and competitive male opponents including county players and an international,
the 'girls' were pleased to finish fifth.
The Ladies played and lost two matches in the morning league, but showed resilience
and determination to win the play off game to avoid the wooden spoon.
All rounder Steph Jobson was outstanding in all three
matches particularly with the bat. Carol Hughes behind the stumps and bowler
Nikki Haines also put in excellent performances.
The experience of competing against quality players was invaluable.
The squad is now waiting for confirmation of winter net facilities at Arden School
and looking forward to joining the Warwickshire women's 20:20 league in 2007.
